This is how I need to dress Rooney for outings #WinterIsComing
Happy Early Thanksgiving! Can’t wait for all the delicious food (and Rooney can’t wait for the leftovers). We’ll be getting all our essentials from #HEB this week, Roo is in full support
With Christmas sneaking up around the corner Rooney knows what she wants! Barkbox is an awesome monthly gift box filled with all sorts of deliciousness and toys for your k9 companion, can’t wait to spoil my baby girl!
The firt tbt on the site, here is Rooney and Sula throughout their friendship! At 5 weeks old, Rooney was addicted to her big sis, and couldn’t get close enough. On her 1st birthday Rooney is still, crazy about her big sister, but is now even bigger than Sula!
Another restaurant must in the downtown area is 24 Diner, open all day everyday, they have awesome food and drinks and a large dog-friendly outdoor eating area. Rooney’s been a fan since the beginning!
These past few days Austin has been getting some much needed rain, and when I say rain I mean torrential down pours. However some muddy paws can’t keep you from giving your pup the exercise they need! Roo and I caught a sprinkly break from the storms and made our way around Town Lake. Never let some bad weather keep you from outdoors; your pup will thank you for it!
All throughout Austin there is awesome street art, some on large display and some smaller ones, but all deserve to be admired. On a large wall that can be seen walking or driving southbound on Lamar (Right before 5th St.), there is a constant flow of artwork. The wall, which is re-painted the same dull grey about once a week, is never bare for long. I recently was taking a stroll with Rooney when I saw this new addition and couldn’t help but snap a picture of her with it.
Roo & I love a good neighborhood joint to enjoy food and drinks and we have just found another! While The Mean Eyed Cat isn’t a new bar, they’ve made significant additions since their temporary close in 2012. Re-opened and serving liquor and Stubb’s BBQ, it’s an awesome hangout for you and your pup. Awesome staff and a great environment, the BBQ is to die for; which is why I can’t deny Roo just a little bite!
Raised with her sister, Sula, and now living the solo life, Rooney developed some severe separation anxiety. With a busy schedule and some noise complaints, I knew we were going to have to try out daycare for when I wasn’t home. Petsmart at Brodie Ln. became our savior! At Doggy Daycamp Rooney has the time of her life in a safe, playful environment with a staff who knows and loves her. A daily report card lets you know who your pup played with and how they did throughout the day. At a reasonable price ($14 for <6 hours), Rooney loves her twice a week visits to Doggy Daycamp and always returns happily exhausted!
As mentioned earlier, drinks & dogs and I’m a happy girl; add queso and I’m in heaven. I get my little paradise weekly at El Arroyo, a conveniently located Mexican joint on 5th and Campbell. Every Thursday they have $1 margaritas and set up couches in the parking lot for hanging out if there’s a wait. My favorite way to wind down a day, Rooney looks forward to friendly staff and fajita leftovers!
